The members will arise and be led in prayer by Reverend Jason Knight, Pastor, Mount Olive Baptist Church, Virginia beach, and remain pledged and remain standing for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, which will be led by the delegate from Alexandria, Delegate Herring. Honorable Speaker, Delegates, distinguished members of this House, let us pray. Eternal and sovereign God, the one who rules above every nation and yet sees every heart, we pause in this chamber of authority to acknowledge the greater authority of heaven. Your word declares that righteousness exalts a nation. And so today we ask that righteousness will guide every vote, every debate and every decision made in this House. We ask that you would grant these leaders wisdom greater than politics, courage greater than pressure and integrity greater than ambition.
