The members will rise and be led in prayer by Reverend Dr. Ben Jenkins, Boice Baptist Church, Boyce, and remain standing for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, which will be led by the delegate from Alexandria, Delegate Herring. Hearken to the word of the Lord. Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, Ye that seek the Lord. Remember the rock from whence you are hewn. Let us pray. Almighty God, we thank you today for the privilege and indeed high honor to gather in this hallowed space where so many before us have gathered, responding to the call to lead and to guide this commonwealth. Grant us. Audience. We pray your blessings upon these who now embrace their calling to shoulder the responsibility for which they have been entrusted by you and the citizens of Virginia.
