We gather today to seek your guidance upon this house of delegates during this session of the legislature. Grant these delegates the clarity of thought, the strength of conviction and the compassion of heart needed to serve the people well in times of debate, foster a spirit of mutual respect and understanding, and in times of decision, guide them towards solutions that promote the common good, justice and prosperity for all.
