The members will rise and be led in prayer by Pastor Ray Ralson, Place of change, Chesapeake, and remain standing for the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America, which will be led by the delegate from Alexandria, Delegate Herring. Let us pray. God of wisdom and mercy, we thank you for the gift of this day and for the men and women who serve in this chamber. We ask your blessing upon every delegate. Honor their work, strengthen their resolve and reward their faithful service. Many carry this responsibility at great personal costs. Remind them that service done with integrity and humility is never unseen, and that when they serve the people well, it's a service that honors you. Grant them clear minds for complex issues, steady hearts under pressure, and courage to choose what is right.
