“Being a probation officer, I feel like I have met the people at the end of the road, in a sense, after they were adjudicated and sentenced and hopefully on the road to recovery. And I know that I spent so much time focused on getting them to a better place rather than returning them to incarceration. So my goal with the JP courts is that I can start at the beginning of the road versus the end of the road and help them possibly not continue down that path and hopefully not up in the judicial system overall and help them seek out resources to help them be better and be more productive in the community and live a proactive life.”
