Okay, let's get started with House Bill 1426. Whoever would like to begin. Rebzokai. Thank you, Mr. Chair and committee members. What you have before you today is just a simple little cleanup bill. That's a joke. But you do have an important bill that is codifying recommendations that were presented to us in the SMART act hearings. And I did re up that report in your email, so you should have that in an attached email from me if you want to take a look. These are some comprehensive cleanup measures and modernizing our statutes for the Department of Law. The Department's responsibilities have expanded significantly and resources simply have not kept pace. We expect the Department of Law to have oversight in data privacy, consumer protection, fraud prevention, and oversight of government actors. And we are really not able to give them more resources to do that work. So what we can do is ensure that our statutes are clear and actually workable in practice.
