Representative Chris Richardson argued 'the way it attempts to address these concerns is not designed to calm tensions. It's designed to inflame them' and stated he was 'sincerely and deeply concerned that the language in this resolution will lead to real world harm here in Colorado.' Representative Had Clifford responded directly: 'Your comment that this resolution will bring suffering and pain in the state of Colorado, I fully expect everybody in this room locks arm in arm and says, not here, not this way.'
“A yes vote on this resolution is a stand for immigrant communities. A yes vote on this resolution is an acknowledgement that Alex Preddy and Renegood should have never been killed. A yes vote is an acknowledgment that our immigrant communities deserve human rights and deserve to be respected.”
