We are first going to hear House Concurrent Resolution 1,300. Rep. Garcia Sanders thank you, Madam Chair and colleagues. HCR 1003 was inspired by one of my county commissioners seeking to find ways to reduce property taxes for residents who own their homes outright. We've all heard how expensive Colorado is getting and many homeowners are feeling the pinch with huge increases in property taxes over the past decade. For our seniors, especially when they've paid off their homes and are asking why they need to keep paying increasing property taxes on a home they own outright, it would be great if county commissioners could provide a waiver on their county property taxes. I've had other current and former county commissioners reach out after hearing this concept and say this seems like a great idea. If passed, this bill would allow counties to choose…
