The House Finance Committee unanimously advanced HB 26-1004, a bill extending Colorado's Child Care Contribution Tax Credit for 10 years, to the Committee on Appropriations with a favorable recommendation. Only proponents testified; no opposition was voiced.
Representative Tax Brooks asked whether market-based alternatives had been considered and whether taking the credit off the books would have an impact against the general fund, and whether this was the best solution. Representative McCluskie redirected to witnesses rather than directly answering, and Representative Caldwell acknowledged he did not have a specific answer regarding alternatives. No witness addressed the market-based alternatives question on the record.
