Representative Soper argued the swipe key data for December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025 would corroborate allegations about Representative Weinberg's presence and access, stating 'if we had swipe key data that showed he entered on New Year's Eve and then we have the photograph of him allegedly at the Dome also on New Year's Eve. The corresponding elements would be that if he had access a key or already had custody of a key, then the swipe data would confirm that.' Representative Mabrey disagreed, stating 'I kind of disagree that we need it because I don't know that just knowing he entered the building on New Year's Eve means anything to me. I think a lot of members come here for a lot of different reasons, and I generally don't necessarily think it's against the rules to bring your family into the building.' Madam Chair added uncertainty about whether the photographs could be definitively tied to the swipe data given they are not date or time stamped.
